About Me

One hot summer day about midway through his 57th year of residency here on Planet Earth, when Dad came home from work, Mom met him at the door, batting her eyes and said, Guess what, Honey.” Now I’m sure he just shrugged, thinking the mother of their 12 children had some news about the kids. But noooo...long story short, number 13 (Yours Truly) was in the oven! By the time I made my debut the following March, Dad had already celebrated his 58th birthday, and Mom turned 50 about 4 months later in July. Not the ideal time of life for this sort of thing but, oh well...there I was!!

Dad retired at 65 and moved the family from Indiana to rural western Oklahoma where I grew up hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, doing farm work...just living that county life. Now fast-forward about 15 years and this dyed-in-the-wool country boy stepped off a greyhound bus in downtown Los Angeles with nothing but the clothes on my back and a suitcase with a few clothes and personal effects. Now jump to an evening in late October...I went out on a date with a girl WAY beyond my wildest dreams. About 3 weeks later we became “an item.” Things moved along quickly and some 6 weeks after that, on new years eve, while parked up in the mountains overlooking the city lights of the LA Basin, we decided to get married. That evening ended with a goodnight kiss at midnight as 1980 rolled over into 1981.

I spent my time in Socal learning the real estate business and developing my musical skills. I played the keys, bass and drums and became a rather impressive rock-n-roll vocalist. I eventually set up a recording studio in my home and I recorded with people you’ve likely heard on the radio. Meanwhile, the woman beyond my wildest dreams and I adopted a baby boy. When that boy was 7 years old we decided to leave the hustle and bustle and traffic of southern California. So we packed up and moved back to the small town in Oklahoma where I grew up.

About 3 years later I bought my first "real" camera and soon found myself working for the local newspaper taking  pictures of, and writing the reports for local high school sporting events. In July of 2011 I upgraded to a camera with a full-frame sensor. I continued shooting sports but I also began working with models and started shooting scenic and nature pictures as well. It all came rather natural to me...learning the camera settings, figuring out lighting, capturing and composing images, etc. I've become fairly well-known locally for my photographic prowess and have had my work published in magazines from San Diego to New York and even a fashion magazine in Dublin, Ireland!

Oklahoma provides a vast assortment of environments and wildlife for nature photography. After all, the state stretches all the way from Colorado/New Mexico to within 30 or 40 miles of Louisiana! Stunning sunrises and sunsets occur regularly as do thunderstorms and I love getting lightning pics! Furthermore, though Oklahoma is certainly no mecca of fashion, it does boast an astonishing number of beautiful and talented models and an endless array of settings in which to photograph them. So, having mastered my camera and availed myself of the myriad different photographic opportunities which surround me here, I have directed all of my creative juices toward photography. Last July I upgraded to a new camera, thus raising my photography to a whole new level. My last remaining obstacle? Marketing...

...Enter art storefronts!! I am so excited at the prospects of harnessing all the marketing knowledge and power here and I plan to make optimum use of the tools they provide! So what you have here is just one of the good ole country boys here with a really good eye and a really good camera and a boatload of skills...and this here country boy is literally driven to take pictures! And my major goal for my photography is to have my photo art hanging on your walls!!!
